The Habitat Boone County Repair program is designed to aid Boone County homeowners with exterior home preservation repairs and Age In Place repairs. Simple tasks like power washing the siding, painting the porch railing, or trimming overgrown landscape plants may prove too physically demanding for a homeowner. The Repair Team has the necessary tools and know-how to repair the homeowner's property. In 2023, our Repair Program formed a partnership with the City of Lebanon to provide grants to homeowners for repairs in the Lebanon Community.

Am I Eligible?

A homeowners may qualify for the Repair program if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • You must own and live in your home full-time in Boone County

  • There must be an identified need for the requested repairs

  • Your property taxes, mortgage, and insurance  must all be current

  • You meet program gross income guidelines

What is the Cost?

First, a qualified construction representative will come to assess your work project. A total cost will be determined based on required materials, and any contract labor that may be necessary.

Having calculated the repair cost, the homeowner's portion will be determined bases on a sliding scale figuring the Area Median Family Income (AMFI), and the household income. The project will need to be paid in full before work begins.

In addition to the dollar amount, homeowners are required to participate in the form of "sweat equity". The number of hours is dependent on scope and nature of the project.
